Aegir Coasters are handmade drinks coasters, made from recycled wood from whiskey barrels. Aegir coasters come in three variences, amber to highlight the whiskey, black to highlight the char and lastly clear to highlight the spring water. Aegir is the oldnorse word for “mouth of the river” and ties to the tradition of placing whiskey distilleries by larger streams. The coasters were designed as a startup as part of an entrepreneurship course at Aalborg University. They were created together with industrial designer Kristian Vrist Hansen.
